koshima

installation
foils, needles, room net from continnous threads
it is like taking some distance, a snapshot of a world map. innumerable capillary lines, at times taking infinite turnes,
at times making shapes, interwoven with surfaces and patterns. patterns in numbers, which appear to accurately convey
both a dimension of height and depth. the sea as a delimited area or the country bordered by the sea. these apparent
borders between sea and country are emphasised in this installation, being replaced bylines in the maps. these limits
are transported on transparent sheets, arranged in layers and assemblies. it is not clear where does the country and
where the sea begin. the line becomes a spatial experience. the sheets occupy large surfaces on the windows and walls
of the room and are interlaced by individual threads.
koshima is the name of a six hectares island.
